This project involved a retired couple seeking a home that was both functional and reflective of their personal style. The process began with key decisions on whether to extend or renovate the property. After careful consideration, the decision was made to extend, with the aim of relocating the main bedroom to the ground floor for easier accessibility in their retirement years.
A primary challenge was optimizing the limited space on the ground floor. The layout needed to ensure comfortable movement while incorporating essential areas such as a bedroom, bathroom, storage, utility room, and a spacious, comfortable, and efficiently designed open-plan kitchen.
Working closely with the architect, builder, and suppliers, a solution was developed to address these constraints. Several design and structural challenges arose, but they were resolved efficiently through collaboration without compromising the final design.
Custom joinery packages were also a key aspect of the project. These designs included a bespoke prayer unit and practical storage solutions that enhanced the aesthetic and functionality of the home.
The clients desired a contemporary look with elements of traditional Indian design to integrate their collection of paintings and curios. A careful balance was struck between modern and traditional elements, ensuring a harmonious flow throughout the space.
Overall, the clients were extremely satisfied with the outcome, resulting in a home that is both beautiful and functional, providing ample space for all their needs.

“We live in North-West London and decided to fully renovate and extend our home, starting the project last year. From the outset, we asked Ramya to assist with the project, and she accepted wholeheartedly. She quickly understood our requirement for a ground-floor bedroom and ensuite, seamlessly incorporating them into the spatial planning to optimize the layout. Ramya offered excellent suggestions for the layout of the kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms, and utility areas. Her input on storage solutions, along with her assistance in selecting doors, wardrobes, living and dining room cabinetry, electrical fittings, floor and bathroom tiles, and paint colours, was invaluable.
Throughout the process, as the house began to take shape, we frequently reached out to her with our ideas and preferences. She was always cheerful and provided thoughtful advice. We moved back into our house a few months ago, and since then, many of our friends have visited and admired the interiors. We are thoroughly enjoying our home, and we are grateful to Ramya for her help. We highly recommend her to anyone seeking professional and personalized service delivered in a highly accommodating manner.”
