Working with a client who arrives with a clear, confident vision is one of the great pleasures of interior design. When Amit and Nidhika came to Siya Designs, they had already secured planning permission for a 6-metre ground floor extension and had a vivid picture of how they wanted to use the new space. Ramya’s role was to take that vision and translate it — with precision, creativity, and technical rigour — into a home that was as functional as it was beautiful.

The extended space was designed to accommodate everything the family had dreamed of: a generous dining area for eight, a custom-designed bar, a fireplace as a centrepiece, and a warm, inviting TV and living zone. The crown jewel of the design was a large, vibrant artwork commissioned from an artist in India — a deeply personal element that anchored the entire room and gave it its distinctive character.

Detailed 2D and 3D drawings, alongside a comprehensive lighting plan, were presented to the clients for sign-off at each stage. Home automation and lighting control were integrated using a Loxone system, adding a layer of intelligent convenience to the finished home. Designing the bar was a particular highlight — an innovative brief that brought out some of the most creative thinking in the project.
