Home / About
An independent interior designer studio in London. We design spaces around what happens inside them.
The Studio
At Siya Designs, we don’t have a signature look, and that’s intentional. Every home already comes with something: the people who live there, the way they live, things they love, things they’ve collected, and ideas about how they want their home to feel. We start there.
The name Siya comes from Sanskrit, with associations of grace and strength, qualities that have always felt right for the studio. But graceful doesn’t have to mean quiet. Our spaces can be calm and understated, but they can also be colourful, playful and full of personality. Sometimes, a room should simply be fun. Because no two families live the same way. Why should their homes look the same?
I don’t believe our homes should look like someone else’s Pinterest board. I believe they should feel unmistakably like us.

The Founder
Founder & Principal Designer
My path into interior design wasn’t a straight one.
I grew up in India, amid colour, craft, and tradition, lived in different parts of the world, and spent fifteen years raising my family before finding my way back to a career, this time in design.
It started while renovating our own home. I took an online interior design course to help me make better decisions, became increasingly involved in the process with our architect and builder, and realised that something I had always loved could become a career.
I went on to train at KLC School of Design in London and build professional experience working alongside architects, designers and contractors.
Perhaps taking the longer route into design has shaped the designer I am today. I know what it’s like to actually live in a busy family home, not just design one. I understand that homes change, families change, and real life rarely looks like the photograph.
And I think there’s room for all of that in good design.
My style may be minimal. My passion is not.

The Approach
Good design starts with asking the right questions, not arriving with all the answers. Every project is different, but the way we approach one is simple.
Before we design anything, we get to know you, your home and what you want from it. What works now, what doesn’t, what you love, what you need and what you might not have considered yet.
This is where possibilities open up. We explore layout, light, materials, colour and what you already have, alongside the look and feel you’re drawn to. Different ideas begin to take shape as we find the direction that feels right for you and your home.
Once the direction is clear, we work through the details. Every decision needs to make sense alongside the next, so the room comes together as a whole rather than a collection of individual choices.
From drawings and sourcing to working with contractors, suppliers and final styling, we stay involved as the ideas move from paper into your home.
